The Role

We’re asking for a lot. As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you’ll take frontier AI research and apply it directly in real-world environments. This is not a back-office role. You’ll be embedded on the ground, shoulder-to-shoulder with operators, uncovering the hardest problems and designing systems that materially change how work gets done.

Your job is to drive enterprise value through the intelligent application of technology — balancing immediate impact with longer-term platform thinking. Sometimes that means shipping a fast solution that removes friction overnight. Other times, it means architecting scalable, reusable systems that become the foundation for transforming entire sectors.

You’ll need to be fluent in the latest research and technologies, but also deeply commercially minded — able to identify where AI can unlock real enterprise value and move quickly to make it happen. Success in this role is measured not just in models built or code shipped, but in tangible, real-world impact.

What You’ll Do

• Embed within acquired businesses, working closely with operators to uncover where frontier AI can unlock transformational value
• Translate cutting-edge AI research and technologies into production systems that accelerate adoption and reshape how industries operate
• Navigate the tradeoff between rapid delivery and long-term architecture — deciding when to deploy fast solutions and when to build durable platforms
• Evolve quick experiments into resilient services for automation, intelligence, and analytics that strengthen the broader platform with every deployment
• Own projects end-to-end — from insight and design through to production — always with a focus on enterprise impact and sector-scale transformation

Who You Are

• Deep into AI. You’ve built with LLMs and machine learning, understand what’s hype versus real capability, and have shipped systems that actually work. You write code daily and know how to amplify your output using modern AI tooling.
• Full-stack and scrappy. Comfortable across Python, APIs, cloud infrastructure, front-end and back-end systems — you move across the stack without friction.
• Product-minded. You design for adoption and care deeply about usability, ROI, and making sure what you build gets used.
• Curious and relentless. You dive into unfamiliar domains, learn quickly, and don’t stop until something is live and delivering value.
• Sydney-based. Currently prioritising candidates who can work in the office multiple days per week.
