AI Engineer
Snapshot
The role
This company runs some of Australia's most recognised hotels. Their small, three-person engineering team is in the middle of a genuine transformation: moving from a legacy web and ops stack to one where AI agents do the heavy lifting. That means using AI to build and maintain 30+ websites with minimal human code, building agents that autonomously triage and complete workflows end to end, and integrating data across various platforms to personalise experiences at scale. The tech lead built the first AI-generated web pilot himself and it's nearly in production. You'd be the person who takes that further.
About you
- You actively try to reduce how much you write by hand - AI agents and LLM workflows are your first tool, not a shortcut
- You've shipped agentic or LLM-driven systems in production, using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Temporal or similar
- Strong full stack or backend engineering foundation - you own integrations, APIs and data pipelines end to end
- Comfortable in a small team where you'll touch web, data and AI work in the same week
- Fluent in Python, TypeScript or JavaScript
- You come from a role where your technical depth is visible, not hidden behind a large team
The offer
- $160k + super
- 4 days in their Ultimo office, Fridays from home
- Direct access to external AI and tech consultants working on the company's biggest strategic projects
