The Role
We’re working with an Australian fintech transforming how over a million Australians manage their retirement savings through a modern superannuation platform.

The business is entering an exciting phase - modernising core infrastructure, scaling AI/ML capabilities on AWS Bedrock, and rebuilding platform foundations to support significant growth. This is a rare opportunity to work on greenfield initiatives within an established product.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the infrastructure layer, designing and evolving systems that are scalable, reliable, and highly automated. The role leans heavily toward SRE principles, with a focus on improving reliability and building robust platform tooling—not ticket-driven support work.

About You

You’re a senior engineer who thrives in platform-focused roles and enjoys building resilient systems at scale. You'll have

  • Strong experience in platform engineering / SRE / DevOps roles
  • Hands-on expertise with: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), Kafka, CI/CD tooling (e.g. Buildkite)
  • A strong focus on automation, reliability, and system performance
  • Experience operating in lean, high-performing engineering teams
  • Ability to take ownership and work autonomously with minimal hand-holding
The Offer
  • Work on impactful, large-scale systems used by over a million Australians
  • 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
  • Competitive rate (~$800/day)
  • Join a senior, low-ego engineering team that values autonomy
  • Remote-friendly within Australia (Sydney office available if preferred)
