About the job
We are hiring a Lead Engineer for a well-funded, US-based B2B company that’s scaling a complex data-heavy platform and investing heavily in AI-assisted engineering. They’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer in Australia to own a major part of the platform and lead a small team.

The role
As a Lead Engineer, you'll be 80% hands-on engineering / 20% team leadership. You’ll lead a small team of 4–5 engineers in APAC, own critical systems (including integrations), and help mature the architecture as the product scales. You'll partner closely with senior leadership in scoping the work and lead the execution of the projects.

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong React, Node and TypeScript background - built and maintained production systems at scale
  • AI-first mindset - you actively use AI tooling and think about how to build systems that leverage it
Proven tenure and progression - you've stayed long enough at companies to own systems through their full lifecycle
  • Collaborative and communicative - this is a remote-heavy environment; you need to show up strongly in async and cross-timezone work
  • Experience in leading projects and mentoring engineers

The offer:
  • Work remotely from Melbourne or Sydney, with in-person get togethers throughout the year
  • Greenfield technical problems in an industry that's genuinely underserved by good engineering
  • High-trust environment where you can take ownership and drive results.
