Mid-level Backend Engineer

The role 
As a Mid-Level Backend engineer, you'll have a few years of commercial experience working with Python (Flask), Postgresql, Redis, AWS, Docker. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in backend development who is ready to take more ownership, contribute to architecture decisions, and deliver scalable, reliable features.

You will:

• Build scalable and resilient systems using modern backend technologies
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
• Help optimise database schemas, queries, and data flows
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to understand problems and ship high-quality solutions
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions as part of a supportive team

 
About you
 
As a Mid-Level Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building and improving backend systems that power our core platform. 

You will have:

• 2 – 4 years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Java)
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., Postgres);
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containerization (Docker)
• BONUS: you come from a mathematical and modelling background or have experience in this domain
